At Nomacorc, quality control begins with our suppliers. All raw materials used in our products must fully comply with international food-contact regulations. We also impose strict specifications to ensure that the materials going into our products will deliver the high standards of performance we require. All incoming raw materials are subjected to extensive testing (including GC/MS and sensory assessments) to verify that they are free of any contamination or anomalies before release to the production floor.
Nomacorc uses a proactive quality system that allows for the identification of potential problems before they occur. Statistical process-control checks are performed on all production processes for critical parameters that are known to influence final product quality and performance. We have established stringent specifications that define the performance profile of each product, and we perform continual measurement and testing during production: dimensional checks for length, diameter, and density; mechanical performance evaluations including extraction force, wine splash, and leakage; and sensory analysis such as aroma levels and wine-soak behavior.
After production, Nomacorc closures are immediately packaged in vinyl bags to protect against humidity changes and contamination. We make bulk shipments to our distributors in reusable containers to minimize waste of natural resources. And the containers we use for overseas shipments are also tested with electronic nose technology to identify any potential sensory contaminants.
