Nomacorc’s Oxygen Management Seminar and Oxygen Bar at the LIWSF 2007

(05-25-2007)

Raleigh, NC. May 10, 2007 - Nomacorc – the worldwide leader in the growing synthetic wine closures segment that “produces closures that allow winemakers to rest assured that the wine they pour their heart and soul into will be enjoyed exactly the way it was intended” – will hold an “Oxygen Management for Wine Development: The Role of the Closure” invitation-only seminar from 10:30am – 12:30pm in South Gallery Suite 13 on Thursday 24 May 2007 at the London International Wine and Spirit Fair.

The seminar will reveal groundbreaking new research on the role of the closure on post-bottling wine evolution. An expert panel of speakers including Malcolm Thompson, Nomacorc’s VP of Technology, Olav Aagaard, Director of Global Research, a selected panel of Masters of Wine from around the world, and Jérome Sciacchitano, oenologist advisor from renowned independent French laboratory Immele will reveal how the same wines under the same conditions but with different closures develop into different wines over time, and what the relationship is between oxygen management, closure selections and wine development.

In addition, seminar attendees will witness a never-before-seen demonstration of the Oxo Luminescence (new OTR measurement technology), and participate in two MW guided tastings examining different OTR and consistency levels in wine. “This is not a sales seminar, explains Malcolm Thompson, this is an educational, interactive workshop in which we can share our new findings on OTR influence on wine development, and continue an open dialogue with the global wine industry on how to determine the best closure solutions for optimum preservation and consistency for all wine varietals and winemaking styles.”
